Precautions for those who recently returned from regions at risk of Ebola

In response to the Ebola outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda, we are carefully following the recommendations of Sciensano and our health and safety officer. We are taking additional precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our visitors and staff, although the health authorities state that the risk of the virus spreading in Belgium is very low.

When should you take special precautions?

Special precautions are required if you:

• have returned less than 21 days ago from an area where an Ebola outbreak has been confirmed;
• have recently had close contact with someone who has returned from an affected area.

Please book an appointment in advance. That way, we can take the necessary precautions to ensure your visit is safe for you, other visitors and our staff.

Are you unwell?

Do you feel unwell or have any symptoms? Please do not come to our offices. Instead, contact your GP immediately.

Why are we taking these measures?

Infection is only possible through close and direct contact with the blood or bodily fluids of an infected person. We have put in place these precautionary measures to minimise the risk as far as possible and ensure safe service provision for everyone.

We are continuing to monitor the situation in consultation with the relevant health authorities and will adjust our measures as necessary.
