Do you receive your pension from the Overseas Social Security (OSS)? If so, you will definitely get the necessary documents from the OSS pension and payment service. This chronological overview shows at a glance which documents you will receive and when.

February: the tax card

You need this card for your tax return. It shows the pension amounts you received in the previous year. As with all OSS pensioners who have an activated e-Box, you will receive it automatically in My eBox. Otherwise, you will receive it by post.

From June to August: the application form for holiday pay

Surely one of the forms you enjoy filling in! A retirement pension, a survivor's pension or a pension for a divorced spouse? As all Overseas Social Security pensioners, you are entitled to holiday pay under certain conditions. Authorised pensioners will receive the form by post.

Until you have received the form, you cannot apply for holiday pay. The first forms will be sent mid-June. During July, forms will continue to be sent:

  • for people who receive a pension at the expense of the cities and provinces;
  • for people who live in the Netherlands or have Dutch nationality.

A final mailing is planned for the end of August for pensioners who live in Portugal or have Portuguese nationality.

Some pensioners will receive their holiday pay automatically during the month of June. No form needs to be completed.

Please note: The holiday pay you can receive per year is capped. If you have already used up this maximum amount, you won't get any further payment from us nor will you receive a form to complete.

September: the life certificate

For some people, the life certificate is essential to ensure that they continue to receive their pension without interruption. Under what circumstances will you receive it? If you live abroad or if your correspondence address is not the same as your residential address. The certificate will be sent to you by post. The certificate must be completed by the competent authorities and returned to the NSSO by the end of December of the current year.

January of the following year: reminder for the life certificate

Are you sometimes a little absent-minded? No problem, the OSS keeps track of everything: if your completed declaration is missing, they will send you a new one as a reminder. This ensures that your pension payments are not interrupted if the declaration has not been completed and returned correctly.

Are you waiting for a specific document that you have not received?

Some letters can get lost or go to the wrong address. Please report any problems to our Frontline. They will send you the missing document by email.
